President
Andy Hood
I’m Andy Hood and currently serve as the Director of Volunteer Services and have for the last 2 years. This year I’m running for board president and would like the opportunity to serve this organization in a different manner. BRC is what really got me into running and I have been able to do things I never thought I could accomplish. If elected president, I would want to continue with this trend and help everyone - no matter their ability or experience level - reach their goals.

I see serving on the Board as a way to “pay forward” the inspiration and support that I have been given in my time with Brazos Runners Club. This group has powered me through my first two marathons and will be supporting me through my third this October. For that, I am extremely grateful.
As the Director of Marketing & Membership Services, I’ve worked to accomplish a number of projects. These include, among others, securing hundreds of dollars in club sponsorships, planning/posting routes (don’t hold that against me – hills are your friends), maintaining BRC’s social media presence, arranging club socials, and leading recruitment initiatives.
My hope is that BRC continues to be an outlet of encouragement for all levels of runners. I believe we should strive to make ourselves and each other better athletes, from our running veterans to our newer “more fun” runners. I desire to lead that service to the club by continuing on the Board.
In BRC election tradition, I leave you with a haiku:
Run with a purpose,
Run with a fire in your heart,
Always run happy.
Thank you for your consideration. Cheers all!

It has been a privilege to serve as the Vice President (VP) of the Boat of Fools for the last two years. As VP, I have helped to structure our training plans and track workouts, recruited our Skippers to assist in training, and served as a link to our sister club in Austin (the Ship). My focus is on marathons (20) and my hope is to help others conquer this distance, whether it is their first race or on the road to Boston.
Secretary
Anna Casto
I'm Anna Casto, and I'm a fourth-year PhD student at A&M. I've been running on and off for 10 years, and the only thing I love more than running is getting other people to try running. I joined the Boat of Fools last year while I was training for the BCS Marathon. I have been to almost every group run and have been involved in several BRC social events and races since I joined. I'm running for a board position to give something back to this group that has been a continual source of running inspiration for me. I believe I am qualified for the position of secretary because I am organized and detail-oriented. As a former president of my program's student association, I was required to manage communications and organize event details while keeping careful notes. I hope I have the opportunity to serve as one of your board members!
Matthew Garrett
Will run for BEER...or Food :-) Howdy! My name is Matthew Garrett. I am a 25-year-old Graphic Designer at C.C. Creations Production Facility in Bryan, TX. I graduated from Texas A&M in 2014 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Visualization and a double minor in Business and Art History. Aside from my true passion of graphics (and collecting socks); I LOVE to workout...it has become kind of an obsession now. Future Ironman in Training always looking to conquer my next race or personal goal! Pool and poker are two other hobbies of mine and if I am not doing one of them, you'll probably catch me drinking (or sleeping - that is my all time favorite thing to do). I am friendly, driven, and well spoken and out-going and would like nothing more to be on the council for the Boat! I have been a member since the wee months of the club and this crazy fool is ready to put his face on the map! Prost!!
Treasurer
Patrick Redmill
James Robertson
I joined Brazos Running Club because I wanted to meet new people. I figured a running club that met at a bar was a good place to start. I haven't been disappointed. I'm volunteering to serve as treasurer because I want to help the club continue being a success.
Director of Information Services
Miguel Orellana
I've enjoyed my time being BRC's "IT guy" for the past year. During this time, we have been able to develop our website and have it become an essential part of our club. There is plenty of more work to do with the site as well as getting our wet feet in the social media world. I look forward to continuing my efforts with the board and support the club in any way possible.

Ivonne Lyons
Hi, I’m Ivonne Lyons. I’ve been running with BRC for over a year and met many amazing people I like to call friends. I’m running for Director of Volunteer Services. I have 4+ years of leading volunteer activities at Cognizant Technology Solutions and at my daughters’ elementary school. These activities include: Food Drives, Fun Runs, Making Strides against Breast Cancer, Special Olympics, Stuff the Bus and much more. I have an approachable manner and ability to motivate and guide volunteers. In addition, I volunteer any chance I get. I enjoy cheering for my fellow runners and seeing the smile it brings across their faces. I look forward to giving back and making a difference.

It's been a privilege to serve as president of Brazos Runners Club since our very first run and to be a part of this club for two years. I have loved watching it grow, and am honored to see so many amazing people participate in the Boat. As past president, I'll be offering my input whenever necessary, and mainly there to make sure this amazing vessel continues to be steered in the right direction. I can't wait to see what lies ahead!
